Nicholas Alexander - Video
During the 1980s and 1990s I did a lot of dance photography including a session with the extraordinary mover Douglas Wright (these images were never to be seen), plus many shots which were at first exhibited and then purchased by the Unitec Performing Arts School for their course catalog cover. Production work was supported by making images to launch New Zealand performers at the International Edinburgh Fringe Festival, promoting acts, making posters and designing a concept that started to fly.
A dot.com baby boomer with significant software skills but an insistent artistic bent with language and photography which has evolved and integrated as website design and video.
Over the years, I seem to have developed a method of filming live performance. From this high quality web presentation video, DVDs for widescreen HDV or standard DV, suitable for high grade web video, band show reels, web production of live seminars or speeches are made. I was once told I had a good camera eye, with basic shooting criteria and sound recording requirements met, with HDV or dual DV shoots and editing have captured some great shows. Lighting hire extra. Good rates.
